Primer layer protects the product against corrosion, gives resistance to high temperatures and thermal shock, the 2nd layer enamel gives high scratch and wear resistance and creates a flavor layer, 3rd layer enamel makes a smooth, attractive surface that is easily cleaned and adds a perfect elegance in presentation. PROTECTIVE GLASS ENAMEL: The cooking surface of this frying pan is glass enamel. Since this enamel shows the properties of glass, it has a transparent color, so the inner surface preserves its original casting color. Glass is a natural and a non-toxic coating that will protect the surface and maintain it for longer periods of time. Not only it makes this pan versatile and easy to use but also gives a smooth and shiny surface that is both easy to clean and requires no seasoning before use. HEAT RETENTION: This fry pan has 2.4-qt. capacity and it weighs 5 pounds. Its strong heat distrubition and retention make it great for searing steaks and frying potatoes, vegetables and eggs. HOW TO CLEAN LAVA ENAMELED CAST IRON: Although Lava enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. Always dry cookware thoroughly and store in a cool, dry place. To remove stubborn baked-on food, boil 2 cups of water and 4 tablespoons of baking soda. Boil for a few minutes, then use a pan scraper to loosen the food
